Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maneuver the vessel in various weather conditions and environments.
- Ensure compliance with all maritime regulations, company policies, and international standards.
- Oversee maintenance and repair activities to keep the vessel in optimal working condition.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental hazards.
- Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions for crew members.
- Maintain emergency response plans and ensure readiness to handle any crisis.
- Monitor weather forecasts and make decisions to ensure the safety of the vessel and crew.
- Demonstrate strong seamanship skills, including anchoring, mooring, and towing operations.
- Lead and motivate a team of crew members to achieve operational excellence.
- Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to crew members.
- Foster a positive work environment based on mutual respect, collaboration, and accountability.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with crew members, shore-based personnel, and other vessels.
- Coordinate with port authorities, pilotage services, and other stakeholders as necessary.
- Keep accurate records of vessel activities, including voyage logs, maintenance reports, and incident documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in business management or any related field
- 5-7 years experience working in offshore oil and gas operations or similar industries.
- Certifications or training in maritime safety, emergency response, or environmental management.
- Hold a valid Captain’s license (Master Mariner) issued by a recognized maritime authority.
- In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations, navigation techniques, and safety procedures.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
